A certain part of the article that I am analyzing is the
Tesla Tower that was being constructed in Shoreham, Long Island. The concept of
this tower fascinates me for many reasons. The most miraculous by products of
this eighth wonder of the world is the distribution of free electricity to the
entire planet. If a person is not impressed by this fact then how about the Tesla
Tower being able to turn the entire Ionosphere into a giant nightlight. When I did
my research on the internet, I was immediately led to a website called www.teslasociety.com. This website was
what gave me the information about the whole Ionosphere nightlight scenario. It
also included information on the fact that a person could simply walk outside
and plug any appliance into the soil and it would run, safely. When I tried to research
the Kent library, I only received a list of article names and page numbers that
would not allow me to access any usable text. On the other hand, I also
learned from the Tesla society website was that Nikola Tesla had a theory that
he could use this same tower that was already lighting up our oceans to make
sea travel safer, and providing free electricity to the globe to artificially manufacture
and control rain fall anywhere in the world. Unfortunately, the financial backing
behind his tower was pulled when J.P. Morgan observed, “How are we going to get
money for something Tesla is giving to the entire world for free?” after that
funding was pulled and the project was quickly shut down. I also garnered this
information for the web site listed above.
